This form allows you to retrieve information about intervals cored and drilled as stored in the ocean drilling database. The data were manually entered at the time of core recovery in the shipboard environment.
The result data displays cumulative and differential offsets for stratigraphy splices when alternate depth reporting schemes are selected in 'Report Options'.
Specify those fields on which you wish to limit the query. For example: to see information for one site, specify values for Leg and Site, leaving the remaining fields blank.
If the form is left blank, the entire dataset will be downloaded. This will take some time as > 50,000 cores have been logged. If this page does not meet your data request needs, please contact the Data Librarian.
These additional core types will be reported if you wish. For typical depth series analyses they get in the way, so the default is to not report them.
Core types 0-9 (drilled intervals), G (ghost), W (wash) indicate drilling procedures performed which do not generate core material for analysis. Drilled intervals do deepen the hole and affect reported depths. Ghost and wash cores are the result of re-drilling a previous interval. Core types I (in-situ water sample) and S (side-wall sample) do not generate cored material in the traditional sense either, but do generate material for analysis at some specified depth.
These core types are not included in the accumulated statistics for core recovery.
