Ship highlight of the day: Digital Core Imaging
The digital imaging track is located in the Core Lab and is used to capture very high-resolution images of every core section. The speed of scanning can be adjusted to meet quality and logistical requirements.
A special light source was designed by USIO staff to capture the full color range of the cores.
See iodp.tamu.edu/labs/ship.html for more details on the ship's new laboratories.
