LOCATION: In transit to Site 807
SCIENCE UPDATE: The Readiness Assessment Committee continues to receive demonstrations and hands on activities of various analytical instruments and data applications including standard graphics reports, chemical and physical properties analysis, and core processing. Setup and evaluation of Wireline Heave Compensator performance were completed successfully and all logging tools were tested. Acceptance testing of all shipboard applications and systems continues in parallel to these activities.

Ship highlight of the day: MST Logger
The multisensor track (MST) logger is used to measure physical properties of the core: magnetic susceptibility, bulk density, P-wave velocity, and resistivity. |
A second MST logger is available for out-of-sequence measurements. The physical properties lab was enlarged by 59%.
See iodp.tamu.edu/labs/ship.html for more details on the ship's new laboratories.
