LOCATION: In Guam.

SCIENCE UPDATE: Pre-acceptance and acceptance testing activities continued with more analytical instrumentation and software applications becoming available for testing. Other efforts included organization and preparation of laboratories and science support areas for arrival in Guam and U.S. Customs and Immigration activities. Preparations and planning for Readiness Assessment Committee daily activities completed.

Ship highlight of the day: Arrival in Guam

The JOIDES Resolution arrived in Guam on 6 February 2009 to pick up the Readiness Assessment Committee and transit to Ontong Java Plateau Site 807 for sea trials.
