Frosty the Snowman: To show the crushing effects of water pressure, styrofoam cups are attached to the subsurface video camera and lowered to ~400 m depth. At these depths, the pressures are great enough to squeeze the air from the foam. The cups are often decorated for fun. Shown here, Frosty has successfully made the trip down and back.
