Siem Offshore Captain Terry Skinner and the Expedition 376 technical staff wish Jan Jurie Kotze (Marine Instrumentation Specialist, IODP JRSO) luck on his retirement from IODP. Jurie has served as a Marine Instrumentation Specialist for 17 years and is known for his ability to take little and produce much. His innovative solutions to problems are matched by his technical skills and creativity. He will be sorely missed. (Credit: William Crawford, IODP JRSO) [Photo ID: exp376_223]

Almost a work of modern art— barnacles on the ship’s hull. As a research drilling vessel, the JOIDES Resolution spends most of her time at sea sitting still in the water, which gives barnacles a chance to make a home. The trip to port will wash most of them away. (Credit: Yuanfeng Cai & IODP) [Photo ID: exp376_232]
