Dwight Hornbacher
March 1947 – April 2015
Dwight Allen Hornbacher died April 10, 2015. He was born March 4, 1947, in Conroe, Texas.
He entered the U.S. Navy at the age of 17 before graduating high school. Dwight went on to graduate from Morningside High School in Inglewood, California. He earned a BA degree in Theology and Biochemistry from Pacific Union College in Saint Helena, California. Dwight earned a Master’s degree in Geology from Loma Linda University in La Sierra, California. Dwight worked in forensic medicine while completing his studies. He then moved to Texas A&M University to pursue a Ph.D.
Dwight was actively involved in the Three Angels Seventh Day Adventist Church. He was a leader in the Adventist Christian Fellowship. Dwight was a past elder in the Adventist church. He loved animals of all kinds and especially enjoyed horses. Dwight was an avid outdoorsman who valued time spent camping and hiking. As a lifetime academic, he loved reading and writing.
Dwight joined ODP in August 1998, first as a laboratory technician, then became a software developer.
