Rutgers Core Repository

Satellite repository for Leg 150X & 174AX

The Rutgers/New Jersey Geological Survey Core Repository is located at Rutgers University in New Jersey. The RCR houses cores drilled on land in New Jersey and Delaware that address similar scientific objectives to ODP Legs 150 and 174A.

Obtaining Samples

The 150X and 174AX land cores are stored unsplit (whole round) and un-refrigerated, and are measured in feet instead of meters. See ODP volumes 150X, 150X Suppl., 174AX, and 174AX Suppl. for more information and images of the cores.

Sample requests for land cores should be submitted to the USIO Curator and will be forwarded to the Rutgers repository. Please familiarize yourself with the IODP sample and data obligations policy before requesting samples.
