Data & Sample Moratorium

IODP data and samples are typically protected by a 1-year postcruise moratorium, during which time data and samples from a particular expedition are available only to that expedition's science party and approved shore-based participants. Longer moratorium periods may be imposed for joint expeditions, where sampling takes place postcruise at a shore-based repository.

The Data Librarian can assist you if you do not remember your login ID or have not been assigned one.

Data and samples whose moratorium has expired are available to the scientific and educational communities under the obligations outlined in the IODP Sample, Data, and Obligations Policy.
