IODP Core Repositories
Repository lists updated 13 May 2008
IODP maintains three main core repositories:
BCR, GCR, and KCC.
Please contact one of the curators to verify the location of cores you are interested in sampling.
THE EAST COAST AND WEST COAST REPOSITORIES WILL STOP ACCEPTING SAMPLE REQUESTS AS OF 15 JUNE 2008. REQUESTS FOR ECR AND WCR REMAINING
CORES WILL BE FULFILLED AT THE BCR AND GCR WHEN THOSE CORES HAVE BEEN TRANSFERRED.

The Bremen Core Repository (BCR) is located at the University of Bremen, Bremen, Germany. When the core redistribution is complete, this repository will house cores collected from the Atlantic and Arctic Oceans (north of Bering Strait).

The Gulf Coast Repository (GCR) is located at Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas, USA. When the core redistribution is complete, this repository will house cores from the Pacific Ocean (Pacific plate east of western boundary), the Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico, and the Southern Ocean (south of 60° except Kerguelen Plateau).

The East Coast Repository (ECR) is located at the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory in Palisades, New York, USA. It has housed cores collected by the Deep Sea Drilling Project (DSDP) and ODP (Legs 1-150, 174A) from the Atlantic and Southern Oceans and the Black, Caribbean, and Mediterranean Seas.
