Function

The Operations Superintendent acts as a liaison between the science party and the ship's drilling crew to ensure that the scientific objectives are achieved. The Operations Superintendent, in consultation with the Co-chief Scientists, Staff Scientist, and ship's Officers, can amend the drilling plan to account for delays caused by weather, equipment failure, or other drilling difficulties.
